All about the Creative Genius of Mara Prose

“I used to call myself an aspiring writer but considering I write everyday, I am a writer!!” ~ Mara Prose

Taking it one keyboard stroke at a time, Author and Publisher Mara Prose entertains and inspires her readers to embrace the spice of life through her sassy, smart, and straightforward approach to writing. Fueled by determination, persistence, and passion, she keeps them coming back for more – much more than they bargain for.

Whether reading her memoirs like Reflections at 39, poems such as A Voice to Carry, or articles similar to Has the Art of Writing Met Its Demise?, her Prosers thrive on her willingness to never sugarcoat reality and appreciate her “honest and heartfelt sharing” and “beautifully written blogs.” They love that she invites them into the living room of life through her fiction, blogs, and poetry.

Bottom line? They relate. And she empowers her readers to develop their self awareness.
Whatever their nationality, gender, religion, and more, the universal and human quality of Mara’s work touches peoples’ spirits and emotions, giving them food for thought and igniting their passion for what they believe in.

“A one-page breakthrough starts an avalanche.”- Nora Roberts

When Mara was just nine years old, the creative writing bug bit. Asked to rewrite the Old English Poem Beowulf for a class project, she turned it into a play. She then let her reluctant mother – a perfectionist and a tough sell – read it. Mom devoured it, and became the first one to validate Mara’s talent for writing. And Mara’s been in writing Beast Mode ever since.

But she only realized that writing would be more than a hobby for her when she established her first blog in 2012. In a single month Mara racked up 465 hungry readers across the globe, and now boasts over 4500 followers worldwide. She has even captivated individuals who do not consider themselves regular readers.

Mara’s best practices involve handwriting her stories, poems, and blogs before committing them to the keyboard. She carries a notepad with her and jots down the ideas as they hit.  Now that she is a contributing writing for RealBlackLove.com and Estelle Magazine, all while working to establish additional blogs, it is imperative that Mara adhere to her routine to remain consistent with releasing new, fresh material regularly.

When she’s not writing, you can find Mara serving as a mentor, energy professional and fashion stylist at her favorite store, Chico’s. Motherhood has also deepened her passion for writing and drive her to make her mark as a renowned author. Her love for her son and daughter compel Mara to gift them and their children with a lasting and meaningful body of work and memories.  And her bond with her daughter – another budding writer in the family – inspires her legacy all the more.

Get More Than You Bargained For

Mara dreams big, and wants you to dream big too. She doesn’t just want to give you something to read – she wants you to succeed. She wants you to make it happen!

In addition to writing, Mara mentors and provides publishing opportunities to aspiring writers who want to circumvent the hassles of larger publishing houses and blaze ahead – just like she has – into their own dreams.

Committed to the vision of becoming a globally successful writer, Mara also sees the day when her words transform into movies and mini-series. She will soon challenge herself and try her hand at non-fiction as well, Broadway and Hollywood.

With a little persistence, Mara expects she’ll get there. And in the process, she’s available to champion your success too. With hard work, she believes anything is possible.

As Calvin Coolidge says in one of Mara’s favorite quotes:
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘press on’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”
