Letting Go of Other’s Opinions by Misty Tripoli

We live in other people’s heads… or at least we think we do.

And all that does is make us judge ourselves.

It makes us uncomfortable in our own bodies.

It makes us apologetic for being ourselves.

It makes us feel as though we’re never enough.

I too was weighed down with high standards of myself based on what I thought people were thinking about me.

And when I didn’t meet those expectations my inner bully would come out and beat the crap out of me.

When I realized people don’t actually think about me that much, my life and my happiness literally transformed.

It is so liberating to let go of the weight of other people’s opinions.

I could stand in front of fifty strangers and speak or dance…

Some will think I’m a fool, and others will love it.

Some will forget me as soon as they leave, others will remember me for years.

Each of them will get the exact same me.

The truth is, their opinions have nothing to do with me and everything to do with them, their past, their judgments, their expectations, their likes, and their dislikes.

PRACTICE not judging yourself and not judging others!

Each time you’re faced with the concerns of what others think of you and you’re beating yourself up, remember this simple truth…

No one cares what you look like and if they do, it’s their problem!

Express yourself wholeheartedly and unapologetically. It will change your life.
